" 'AYURVEDA',
a traditional system of Indian medicine, is known for
centuries in India for curative and prophylactic values.
At the same time Ayurvedic products are totally harmless
and do not have any side effects. This science is oriented
in India and developed by our ancestors and after a
great deal of research - clinical and biological - the
therapeutic properties of Ayurvedic natural ingredients
were reduced to writing, which in the present age have
become the authoritative books of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is a combination of two words :
'Ayu' + 'veda' = 'Ayurveda'. 'Ayu' means
'life' and 'veda' means
'science' i.e. 'the
science of life'. In other words, 'the
science of longevity'. The natural way of a long, healthy,
and peaceful life is the meaning of Ayurveda. Unfortunately, due to a
long alien rule in the country, this wonderful Indian system of traditional
medicine, a treasure - trove of life renewing secrets, was suppressed
and not made known to the world, including the home country itself.

With a view to opening
the doors of a long, healthy and natural life to all
of mankind, the promoters of this company decided to
introduce this science to the world. By introducing
a few Ayurvedic medicinal ingredients in daily-use products
like paste, powder and skin/sun cream so that
the public at large can benefit from this science. It
was also to show that India, in this science, is at
the giving end.
It was with this crusading zeal that the
company was established. And from
a meagre turnover of Rs. 100,000 in 1957 the company has steadily grown
to the present height of Rs. 1500 million per year, with
sizeable exports to USA, Canada, Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand,
Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia,
North America, Mauritius, Fiji, Cyprus, West Indies and Iceland.
Although it is a great achievement
for the company to have popularised this incomparable
science of medicine, the company is fully aware that
it has a lot many things to do and has still to grow
100 times of what it is today. The management is conscious
that this would be a herculean task. And yet is sure
that a day will come when the majority of the people
will avail themselves of this science in their day to
day life and return to the natural way of living a long,
happy, healthy and peaceful life.
The company has an ambitious plan to reach a turnover
of Rs. 5000 millions in the coming years."
